Celebrate our Graduates! On June 2 34 children and their parents celebrated the children completing their preschool classes at John Greene Park.

The event started with the singing of Two of a Kind – a mini concert of sing along music. Then the families enjoyed hoagies, chicken nuggets, mac n cheese and baked beans with chicken dogs. Volunteers did face painting with the children and had a planting activity. The Care Center Foundation location houses the excellent educators from the Chester County Intermediate Unit.

Every effort no matter how small contributes to the village of support that surrounds the families enrolled at the Care Center Foundation.

The school offers early head start and PreK Counts at the 127 South Matlack Location. The mission of the Care Center Foundation is to offer uplifting social events for young families enrolled in our schools. The CCF also works with local churches to provide meals, clothing and holiday gifts. With the generous grants from the West Chester Downtown Foundation the children experienced enrichment activities such as visits from Norristown Zoo, Delaware Museum, singing group, arts and crafts, and gardening.

St Mark’s Lutheran Church and St Elizabeth’s Catholic church provided full turkey meals at Thanksgiving and ham/chicken meals at Passover. Students from West Chester University visit the center to sit with each child and read to them.

One WCU student, Caitlin Kohlenbeck, completed her Capstone project by organizing the items for the Birthday Program. The Birthday program gives parents all the items for a birthday party with gift for their child. Henderson senior Meredith Cooney works at the center to support the teachers in their afternoon activities and will be helping with summer camp program.

The diversity statement of the Center is BETTER TOGETHER. Every effort no matter how small contributes to the village of support that surrounds the families enrolled at the Care Center Foundation.
