Stay Healthy This Fall: Why Getting a Flu Shot Matters

October 30, 2025

By Wendy J. Wallace, DO, President of CCF

The season of change – leaves change color, the weather gets chillier, days get shorter, and kids get runny noses from allergies or colds. However, flu shot fall health habits stay the same! Eating lots of fruits and vegetables, drinking water to stay hydrated, getting sunlight and play, and washing hands before meals and after using the bathroom assure the body is getting what it needs to stay healthy.

But as we stay indoors more, the chances of catching the flu increase! The flu is a virus that needs your body to cause symptoms – the weaker your body, the more likely you will get sicker. Getting a flu shot is one way to get your body ready for the flu virus. It’s like giving your body a ready defense to fight so the flu virus stays weak in your body.

SCARE the FLU away by getting your FLU SHOT today!
