Reflections of Spirit: the Vibrant Mural at the Care Center Foundation
Our new mural, adorning the east wall of the Care Center Foundation’s building, stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment to our children, staff, and mission.
Completed in the fall of 2017 by the talented artist Paul Santoleri, this remarkable artwork encapsulates the essence of our work and serves as a symbol of our collective vision.
We hope this mural serves as a beacon of unity, inviting us all to embrace our role in creating a world where every child and family can thrive
Inclusivity and Collaboration
At the Care Center, it was essential to involve various perspectives to bring the mural’s vision to life. Santoleri engaged with the children at our school, staff members, and board representatives, giving everyone a voice in the creative process. This collaborative approach provided valuable insights, directing the artist’s final design and making the mural a true reflection of our community and collective spirit.
Symbolism and Significance
Embedded within the mural are powerful symbols that align with the Care Center Foundation’s focus on uplifting and supporting families in the West Chester community. The mother bird and worm represent the nurturing and nutritional aspects of the guardian’s role. The nest and baby birds symbolize the vulnerability of children, emphasizing that home is wherever it may be. The presence of a butterfly signifies the transformative journey from struggle to resilience, offering hope and inspiring the best in people, even during challenging times. The vibrant colors breathe life into the artwork, instilling a sense of hope and love in all who encounter it.
