Morning Routines for Children: Starting the Day Right

November 7, 2026

By Wendy J. Wallace, DO, President of CCF

Morning routines for children can help start the day on a happy note, and that good feeling can stay with them all day!

Start your mornings off right, and that good feeling stays with you all day! That good feeling of starting the day on a happy note also works for children.

Keeping things simple, preparing the night before, and building systems that make mornings easier give children the momentum to succeed for the rest of the day!

A consistent schedule of using the bathroom, brushing teeth, getting dressed (put clothes out the night before), eating breakfast, and getting hugs and kisses from you prepares their brains to be open and ready for learning.
